A Venetian trio at the second album, after their strong debut seven years ago, “Opium” (on MP Records, a small but good label for over a decade), which saw leader P. Mike III - guitars, vocals and other - fly to America to improve vocal parts and using Mr. Trey Gunn’s (King Crimson) contribution of some killer Warr guitar parts.
With this album the trio, completed with Frez on drums and Sanze on bass, and driven again by Ronan Chris Murphy’s guidance, makes things even bigger.
The album, a concept album, moves on a particular variety of atmospheres always avoiding boring long suites, it sounds more like a compendium of modern rock with many different facets made special with some great guests, such as Cheryl Porter, who lets you dream with the sound of her voice on “Like a Free Bird”, one of the best songs on the CD, along with “Black Napkin On Tomato Soup”, “Love in the Bathroom”, “My Own World” and “The End of Reason.”
St. Valentine’s Porno Bar has been presented in London and New York, and has had positive reviews everywhere, even by critics coming from a jazz world.
