Hypnoise - "ST. VALENTINE'S PORNO BAR" - rock
In perfect opposition to other artist’s current market strategies this is the second work of Hypnoise. Supported by the production of Ronan Chris Murphy , (who worked with King Crimson some years ago), Hypnoise released a concept album of 14 tracks to tell us the story of Ceasar, leaving his past to arrive at a mystic place where he finally no longer needs all the masks that modern society imposed him.
The record is totally analog and made with an 8 track reel to reel recorder and is an hommage to the seventies: "built" like a progressive album, it has a psychedelic sound with thousands of other different influences ranging from acid rock to blues, everything is made precious with the use of gospel choirs, voices taken from old radios and dialogue fragments.
Interesting and disquieting at the same time, the cover picture reminds one of Donnie Darko's rabbit.
The places used for the recordings were peculiar and strange, ranging from an old 13th century church, an old 15th century villa and the breathtaking and romantic streets of Venice.
This trip, where the trio made by P. Mike 3rd (Vocals, guitars and effects), Sanze (Bass) and Frez (Percussions) takes us on a psychedelic journey out of time.
Overall, a must to listen.
