Press for Opium
"Raro! Mensile di collezionismo e cultura musicale" Luglio 2000

Hypnoise’s first album “Opium”, distrubuited by Italian Indie label MP Records has been made by three capable Italian musicians.
Some Zeppelin (“Snake running after”) and good funk-rock with some jazz influences is the instinctive style of Hypnoise.
By the way, special guest on four tracks, (The way out, Brain heart smile, Tide’s return and Get away), is Mr. Trey Gunn of King Crimson on Warr guitar.
Nine songs to express skills Hypnoise learnt while pupils at Thelonious Jazz School in Vicenza - Italy -
Nine vigorous original english songs for an international audience  recorded between Treviso and Seattle to make a solid, groovy and cool first debut album.
"Jam" June 2000

Hypnoise, (Hypnotic-noise), founded by three young musicians, (P. Mike III Guitars and Vocals - SZE Bass - Frez Drums), is a musical project similar to the latest King Crimson.
The album features Mr. Trey Gunn playing his legendary Warr guitar on four of the nine tracks of this surprising debut album recorded in one year accross Veneto and Seattle, (at the Paradise Studio under the artistic direction of producer Ronan Chris Murphy).
The international ambitions of the project were completed bringing in another American musician, (Robert Roth, mellotron on three songs), English lyrics are just right for this kind of music.
Opium is an interesting work with essential instruments where untiring
guitar, keeps playing great riffs, (Really interesting the ones on “Snake running after” and “Brain heart smile”), on a solid, unruly rhythm section.
Rate: 6,5 on 10
Because Hypnoise is a project for an international audience and the band have skills and qualities to be appreciated in an international market.

"Rockit tutta roba Italiana"
Thanks to MP Records, a dynamic trio called Hypnoise, put out their first creative production recorded between Seattle and Treviso.
It must be added that Trey Gunn from King Crimson played on the album mixed and produced by Ronan Chris Murphy who has also worked with King Crimson and members of Yes, Peter Gabriel and Ministry.
No doubt about the kind of music: Progressive Rock, the kind of music that’s not so popular anymore but very much appreciated by many listeners looking for good emotions.
First inspirations of these really cool musicians other legends: King Crimson, Pink Floyd and many others...
Carefully listening to the album Hypnoise confirms they are really good players able to  play with tight groove difficult parts and rhythm changes; being also able to compose rich and interesting instrumental suites with unforgettable warm and precious atmospheres.
All tracks are technically perfect with coherent and precious arrangements.

It’s a band with great qualities and very good potential.
